The location is incredibly convenient as it is situated near the train station, making it easy to explore the city. there is a small grocery store nearby that stays open until 1am, perfect for any late-night cravings. the hotel is also really close to the city center, allowing guests to easily access shops, cafes, and restaurants.
The neighborhood can be a bit shady and may feel unsafe for solo female travelers at night.

The vibrant atmosphere, bustling streets, and multicultural vibe created a truly unique experience. The city's young population added an energetic and lively charm to our evenings, and we enjoyed discovering various local spots for authentic Sicilian cuisine and live music. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to immerse ourselves in the rich cultural heritage of Catania while creating lasting memories as a family.
In my wife's opinion, the only thing she wished for during our family stay in Catania was a designated children's play area at the hotel. Our children wanted to have a space where they could play and interact with other kids, especially after a long day of exploring the city.

I stayed at Solsicily Bed & Breakfast for transit during my travel and it served its purpose perfectly. The convenience of Fontanarossa being only 10 km away was a major plus for me. I was able to catch a bus from the nearby bus terminal and reach the airport in no time.
The neighbourhood where the hotel is located is not the best. I noticed that many buildings in the nearest area were ruined and it gave the impression of being a red light district of the city.

We stayed at SolSicily for a short visit to the city. The apartment was well-equipped with a spacious kitchen and a fridge for our convenience. The attic room we had was cozy and had a comfortable bed, sofa, and table. The private bathroom, although outside the room, was clean and easily accessible. The owner respected our privacy and made sure we had a peaceful stay. The location of the apartment was perfect, as it was close to main streets, squares, supermarkets, and restaurants. We also appreciated the inclusion of towels and shower gel. The owner's understanding during a payment issue was commendable.
Can recommend this hotel.

Quirky building with unique interiors. Convenient location for markets and beaches. Impressive view of Etna. Friendly staff who didn't mind me pestering them with questions.
So glad I didn't have to climb the stairs of a 19th-century palazzo all by myself. That would have been a real workout!
